The above ten Celsius degrees in Germany these days, have apparently sealed the fate of the eve of 24^th, which means no white Christmas this year neither, but at least we can extend the lifespan of our fall clothing items. Layering is the key right now, so in this outfit I threw together some seemingly contrasting outerwear pieces, that actually work very well together! My moto jacket has definitely became a lot cozier and more resistant against mean winds with this checked poncho on it and I think that this big bundle of fluffy wool also softens down the edginess of the whole look.

I remember the times when not so many seasons ago the poncho and cape trend came in and I was genuinely horrified by it. I still believe that wearing and choosing them is an art that might not be easy to master...I mean for example the silhouettes that ponchos create might not always be the best choice for petite or curvy ladies, but of course this all depends on smart selection of length, material, print and color. The other factor is, that a poncho should not be just picked out from a magazine or shop window, it should be in a good balance with one's personal style and maybe even personality. This is the reason that (so far) I only own this poncho and one cape, and this is why wearing it with a leather jacket is perfect for me. Would you try this combination?
