As someone who is very much interested in design (and also studying it) I have often found myself in the situation that it took a long time for a certain aesthetic, that has not been so appealing to me at first, to become something that  I like after all. The same happened with the culotte trend that started 2-3 summers ago, if I remember correctly, which I found quite weird at the time and I was also very much convinced that this silhouette would not be to my taste. Finally, at the end of last season I decided that I would give it a go and ordered this piece for myself which ended up convincing me that this trend might have a place in every woman's closet. Of course besides being extremely comfortable, the big advantage of culottes is that it is very easy to dress up or down depending on your mood. The obvious styling trick is to try out different shoes with it to get an immediate effect: normcore with white sneakers or cocktail hour with heels. On this day, where we were on a city stroll in Budapest I kind of went with the middle way and made my outfit into an all-rounder (long walks, museum, "hiking" up to the castle, having a nice dinner and some drinks). The slightly shiny texture in black worked great for me, I am sure that the new in-trend pleated versions are great as well.
